Proposed waiting restrictions – Double yellow lines – Zion Street, Seal
What are we planning to do?
Seal Parish Council, working alongside Kent County Council (KCC) are proposing to introduce waiting restrictions at Zion Street, Seal in the vicinity of No 42 as shown on the accompanying plan.
Why do we want to do this work?
Concerns have been raised regarding inconsiderate parking at this location which is restricting vehicle access through the road. It is proposed to install double yellow lines (no waiting at any time) in order to facilitate the safe passage of vehicle including emergency vehicles around this corner.
What will the scheme involve?
The scheme will involve installing double yellow lines at the location shown on the accompanying plan. No upright signage is required.
We have been working closely with KCC who have requested that as a first step, we carry out an informal consultation with residents to gauge the level of support for the waiting restrictions.
How you can help.
Should you wish to support or object to these proposals, or if you have any other comments that you feel are appropriate as part of the consideration of this scheme, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
The deadline for responses is by 3rd June 2022.
We shall collate the responses to the informal consultations and feed this back to KCC. If there is sufficient support for the waiting restrictions, KCC would then arrange for the proposals to go out to formal consultation, which will include notifications on their website, on-site notices and the local paper, as well as informing statutory consultees such as the police.
Again , if the proposed scheme is favourably received, KCC shall then arrange for double yellow lines to be installed on site.
